Upcoming Events
Here you’ll find tickets to Our Home Place Meat gatherings throughout the year. These events are an invitation to slow down, share a good meal, and connect with the people who raise, cook, and care for your food. From our annual fall Beef Bash to intimate talks with guest speakers and friends of the farm, each experience is planned with one goal in mind: bring people together around Kentucky beef and the stories behind it.
Beef Bash 2025
Join us for the third annual Beef Bash—a lively, walk-around tasting event that brings together Kentucky’s best chefs, live music, craft cocktails, and a shared love of local food.
Enjoy a wide range of dishes featuring Rose Beef and Berry Beef, sourced from nearby farms and prepared on-site by some of the region’s most talented chefs.
Nick Offerman | Little Woodchucks Book Release Party
We will be welcoming Minooka, Illinois’ own woodworker, funnyman, and star of stage and screen Nick Offerman to celebrate the release of his newest book: Little Woodchucks: Offerman Woodshop's Guide to Tools and Tomfoolery. Nick, a longtime friend of the Center, will be joining us in the Agrarian Culture Center to talk about woodworking projects for all ages, from making your own box kite to more challenging offerings like a little free library or a little free meat locker.
Good Food, Good Neighbors
Our Home Place Meat was created to support small family farms and the communities they anchor. We work with a network of farmers who raise cattle with care on the pasturelands of Henry County. When you join us at an event, you help sustain that work. You also meet the folks who make it possible, from farmers and butchers to chefs and volunteers. It is food you can trace to a place and to people you can know.
Rooted in The Berry Center
These events are rooted in the mission of The Berry Center in New Castle, Kentucky. The Berry Center carries Wendell Berry’s agrarian vision into practice by advocating for small farms, healthy soil, and strong rural economies. Our gatherings extend that mission into everyday life. They turn values into shared tables, real conversations, and memories.
Look for a range of offerings across the seasons. Beef Bash in the fall. Guest speakers and author conversations. Chef collaborations and tasting events that highlight different cuts and cooking methods. Family-friendly afternoons that make room for learning and play. Whether you are a home cook, a curious eater, or someone who cares about local food systems, there is a seat for you.
