Raised on rolling pastures and rooted in tradition, this 100% grass-fed ground beef comes from a small network of Kentucky family farms committed to responsible, sustainable agriculture.
What sets this beef apart is its origin. Our traditional yearling cattle are raised with their herds, eating native grasses and producing beef that’s naturally lean, richly flavorful, and free from antibiotics or added hormones.

As an initiative of The Berry Center, Our Home Place Meat puts Wendell Berry’s writings into practice, supporting a food system that honors the land, values the farmer, and nourishes the community.Classic Grass-Fed Ground Beef Meatballs Recipe:
Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan
- 2 minced garlic cloves
- Fresh chopped parsley
- Salt and pepper
Instructions:
1. Mix all ingredients
2. Form into 1-inch meatballs
3. Brown in skillet
4. Finish in marinara sauce
5. Cook until internal temp reaches 160°F
Serving suggestion: Over pasta or as appetizer.

Our Home Place Meat was established by The Berry Center in 2017 to develop a co-op for small to mid-size livestock farmers to sell local Kentucky grass fed meat to regional markets.
Beginning in our home place – Henry County, KY – we are building a healthy food and farm model that can be replicated in communities throughout the country.
