Raising beef takes a lot more than pasture and patience. There is land, feed, labor, time, processing, hauling, freezer space, customer communication, and a long list of decisions that have to be made before a single cut is sold.
That is why we created the Beef Pricing Calculator, a tool designed to help small farmers look more clearly at their costs, understand expected yields, and think through what each cut needs to sell for in order for the whole animal to make sense.
We believe farmers should be paid fairly for the work they do, and we want farmers to have tools that help them make informed decisions. A good price comes from understanding what went into the animal, what comes back from the processor, and what the farm needs to keep going.
