Since the launch of Berry Beef in 2021, Red Hog in Louisville, KY has been one of Our Home Place Meat’s strongest and most consistent partners. When head butcher Aaron Sortman asked if the Red Hog crew could visit The Berry Center and one of our partner farms, the only reasonable response was an emphatic “YES!” followed by “When is the best time for you?”
Seventeen staff members and plus-ones spent the morning of January 12 learning about the history and values of The Berry Center and Our Home Place Meat, shopped at The Bookstore at The Berry Center, and visited Berry Beef Founding Farm Blue Meadow Beef (Josh and Ashley Pyles). Having a mission folks can believe in and see the impacts for themselves is a great opportunity we offer to our partner restaurants. I want chefs and farmers to meet and connect in a way that is often not available.
